The Nikau Club Café is the highest café in Auckland looking out over the Waitakere ranges – a great spot to stop if you’re on your way out to Piha. There are fantastic views over the Waitakere ranges for the adults, a play area for the kids, and also a children’s menu.

Hours: Tuesday – Friday 12noon – closing

Saturday and Sunday 10am – closing

Mayfair Café


116 Main Street, Upper Hutt

The Mayfair Café won Upper Hutt’s La Leche League’s child friendly café award in 2005. It has good food, a kiddies menu, and tasty smoothies. There is a children’s play area with an assortment of toys, and they are happy to accommodate for push chairs.

Hours: Sunday – Tuesday 8.30am – 4.30pm

Wednesday – Sunday 8.30am – Late
