In New Zealand, breast milk substitute formulas are called Infant or Starter Formulas and Follow-On Formulas.

When breastfeeding is not an option, Karicare Starter Formulas offer a nutritionally complete alternative to meet the dietary needs of bottle-fed babies from birth to six months and over. Follow-On Formulas can be used from six to 12 months and over.

Formulas for healthy babies are usually based on cows milk. Cows milk-based formulas suit most babies, but some babies have special feeding needs – for example those with reflux or allergies. The Karicare range includes specialty formulas for these different needs:

Karicare Gold+ Starter formula is cows milk-based and similar in composition to Karicare Starter Formula, but with the added benefits of the Omega-3 and Omega-6 LCPs, DHA and AA.

Karicare Goat Starter Formula

The only nutritionally complete goats milk-based formula available for infants in New Zealand.

Karicare Soy Formula All Ages

A nutritionally complete formula suitable from birth to a year or over, this is based on protein derived from soya beans with added methionine to provide all the essential amino acids for infants. Lactose free.

Karicare Aptamil AR Thickened Starter Forumla

A unique, thickened cows milk-based formula suitable from birth for babies with regurgitation or gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Karicare Aptamil De-Lact

A cows milk-based, nutritionally complete infant formula which is lactose (milk sugar) and sucrose free.

Karicare HA Gold+ Infant Formula

A nutritionally complete formula suitable as a first formula for babies when there is a strong family history of allergy.

Karicare Aptamil Feed Thickener

Aptamil Feed Thickener is a thickening agent and may be mixed with breast milk or infant formula to assist in the management of regurgitation.
