Q: My baby is on formula but is drinking less than the guidelines on the can – is this ok?

A: The feeding guidelines on the can are guidelines only. Feeding guides indicate the average volume an infant may consume at a certain age.  Some infants may require more or less than the guide states.  Most infants will regulate their own appetite to meet their needs for growth.
It is important to make sure that your baby is not dehydrated and is growing well.  If you are concerned about your baby’s intake then please discuss this further with your General Practitioner or Health Professional.
